Asain Lesbians

What the author means as a visible minority is to portray a distinctive race such as african american, chinease, and pretty much every race that is not white. What it means to stick to your own kind is basically fitting in with the people of your race or culture. No, people are not left with no choice, but its become more of a social norm than anything to fit into your own culture. The main identity struggle that the author faces is the fact that she is from an asian descent and hangs around a predominatily white crowd. This it self is enough to change the way a person thinks, talks, and dresses. She is overcoming this by simply going outside just one group of friends or race. Me, on the other hand am the very opposite of the author. I am very proud of my heritage in many aspects and I am not afraid to portay it. I too had friends of a different race, and yes it did change a few aspects of me, but it did not change who I am.
